Myung Ga: A Fusion of Korean Flavors and Sushi Delights in West Valley City

I've been coming here for years and the food is absolutely delicious. The side dishes are my favorite and I always end up asking for more. The staff have always been friendly and helpful with their recommendations. In the past it used to be quite busy but now foot traffic has slowed a bit. It's great for lunch and dinner, always stuffed afterwards. I've come here for many birthdays and celebrations so this place has a special spot in my heart.

GLUTEN FREE HEAVEN! They can make anything on the sushi menu gf - including shrimp tempura! Even all of the sauces they have a gf substitute (even eel sauce!!) Hands down my favorite sushi place in Salt Lake county. Tues & Wed they have happy hour dinner prices for specialty rolls too! (All of the Itto Sushi restaurants do this) Our waiter was super attentive and double checked everything was GF. Also the ambiance in here is nice - the booths are HUGE (Note: I am highly gluten sensitive - not celiac)

This is a review of Itto Sushi, who have a menu at the Myung Ga restaurant. I've eaten a lot of sushi, and have tried pretty much every spot in the SLC area. For Utah, I still have my top [downtown] favorite, but Itto is in my top 4! Itto has extremely high quality fish, including premium offerings like uni, toro (probably chu toro?), and ikura. When eating in, happy hour (Tues/Wed only) and the daily specials (20% off certain rolls on other days) are a great value. The bento boxes are a great deal, delicious and SO much food! I have ordered a number of things, but my favorite is the gunkan combo. The fish was WOW so fresh, with very large portions. The salmon was a great mix of fish and a light sauce (sesame?), the ikura was extremely flavorful, the hamachi was about average, the uni was excellent (2 pieces per gunkan), and the toro with quail egg was delicious. It wasn't quite enough food for dinner, so I'd recommend maybe ordering another small roll along with this. I was disappointed with the scallop dream roll. I wouldn't say it was a scallop nightmare exactly, but I was unpleasantly surprised when I found that the scallops were actually fake scallops. I didn't know there was such thing as a fake scallops, and I can't say I'll choose this from Itto's menu again. Even though it seems weird to have an extensive sushi menu inside a Korean restaurant, trust me, this is the real deal. I come here often with friends, as there is so much variety it's like eating at a different restaurant each time. Love you, Itto, so glad you're in my neighborhood!

From the outside, it's a little confusing since there are a few restaurants hosted in the same place. They've got sushi, they've got Korean and it's all pretty darn good. I was surprised at the few people dining in recently, but happy to have the place mostly to ourselves. Service was laid back, but they got us what we needed. It was remarkably fast-other Korean places that I've visited have been much slower. At first, I was worried that I was compromising quality for speed, but the food was on point. I really liked the beef bulgogi. The japchae was good, although more vegetables than we're used to. We'll be back!

Myunga & Itto have join forces everyone! I recently dined in after being told the businesses have partnered up. Immediately I saw the improvement in staff and service. I've been a loyal customer for the last 14 years and I can say the food has always been great and consistent but the service was a hit or miss. My favorite thing to get here is their meat & soup combinations and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes). Their stone pot bibimbap is good too. I've been to a few of the other Itto sushi locations and think this location will be popping. I mean Korean food and sushi? You're getting the best of both worlds. They offer the full Itto menu which includes bento boxes, entrees, sushi/nigiri and even ramen/udon noodles! Can't wait to return because Myunga has been my favorite Korean restaurant in Utah!

This Korean restaurant is so underrated. I feel like it's one of the most authentic Korean foods in Utah. Their dishes are always so fresh and the spicy tofu soup is one of my favorites with seafood, meat! I always loved to dine here. I agree that it has been overpriced since a few years ago which is a downer and I think they should hire more servers as service was a bit slow.

This restaurant is my go to when I want Korean bbq, but don't want to grill it myself. It's not AYCE but the portions are a good size. Their food is authentic, flavorful and not greasy. I usually ordered the bibimbap with beef and their tofu soup. They put a generous amount of soft tofu in their soup, and the broth has good miso flavor. They are short staffed and do their best so keep up when it's busy, so keep that in mind if you go on a weekend.
